Nigerian-American rapper, Jidenna is disappointed over his inability to perform at the One Africa Music Fest that was held in the UK over the weekend.
The singer couldn’t get around to perform because the venue managers cut the power, signalling an end to the concert that started an hour and a half late – apparently Nigerian artistes had taken “Eko Hotel attitude” to London and got served for it.
Tiwa Savage’s performance was cut off in order to make time available for other artistes, while host Banky W rushed Davido through his act.
Psquare and Flavour barely had anytime for their sets, but Jidenna apparently was not so lucky.
Jidenna vented his disappointment on Instagram after the concert which was organised by Upfront & Personal Global Management.
“I was supposed to perform 2night but the show was cut off as I waited backstage. I’m disappointed that London wasn’t able to see me 2night. Regardless of whose to blame, to make this our time we must be on time,” he wrote.
However, speaking to Factory78 TV, Jidenna explained that other continents laugh at us over the “African Time” factor, emphasizing that going early for events is something we as Africans should learn to do without if we want to become great again.
He also revealed that he is still awaiting an official apology from the organizers of the event.
